DEVO

Distance Education & Videoconference Operations
DEVO works directly with faculty and researchers to support academic classes, meetings, and special events through video capture, videoconferencing, and webcast technology. These services can be scheduled in distance learning or traditional classrooms. Live videoconferencing can be "local or global" depending on the technology requirements.

Distributed IT Support Services

the "Nodes"
The Distributed IT Support Services provide assistance setting up new computers, installing hardware and software, trouble-shooting technical problems, email and network connections, server space for files, and other related local issues. Some Nodes also offer training in computer applications for teaching and research, and are important members of support teams on IT projects.

iMedia

iMedia is a University resource available to faculty who need design assistance or image creation for their instructional or research projects. They provide photography, multimedia, and graphic design, as well as consultations and customized training in graphics applications.

ITS

Instructional Technology Services
ITS provides services to support the use of information technology in the educational process. ITS supports UB ETEC classrooms, and provides peripheral equipment for faculty in-class use including: overhead, slide, film, video and computer projection equipment, sound systems.

ITS maintains a Media Library of over 2000 educational films, video tapes and slide/tape programs available to the University and searchable via the University Libraries online catalog. Educational materials obtained from the Media Library will be delivered to centrally scheduled classroom along with appropriate presentation equipment and removed at the conclusion of class sessions.

MyUB

Individualized portal to the UB Web
MyUB is a web-based, personal portal with links to online UB resources faculty use most: InfoSource, The Libraries, UBlearns and more. Enhanced customization features deliver time-based information specific to individual academic or professional interests. Its unique transmogrifier feature allows faculty to view MyUB from the student point-of-view.
