SafeAssign Plagiarism Prevention Software

SafeAssign Plagiarism Prevention Software is available for campus use. It is a tool within UBlearns for faculty to help students learn how to properly cite sources in scholarly writing such as papers and reports.

SafeAssign checks all submitted papers against a comprehensive index of documents available for public access on the Internet, the ProQuest ABI/Inform database, institutional document archives, and a Global Reference Database containing papers that were volunteered by students from Blackboard client institutions to help prevent cross-institutional plagiarism.

Results of the search are returned in a customized Originality Report which shows any text matches found in the SafeAssign databases with links to the matches.  It is up to the instructor to make the final decision as to whether plagiarism has occurred.
