Plagiarism Prevention Software
Now Available!

Turnitin Plagiarism Prevention Software has been licensed for campus use. It is a tool for faculty to help students learn how to properly cite sources in scholarly writing such as papers and reports.

Papers submitted to Turnitin are searched against Turnitin’s proprietary database consisting of “over 10 million student papers, … millions of pages of books and journals and over 6 billion pages of the current and archived Internet.”

Results of the search are returned in a customized Originality Report which shows any text matches found in the Turnitin databases with links to the matches.  It is up to the instructor to make the final decision as to whether plagiarism has occurred.
